In the morning you will start your City Tour of Arequipa with your private guide. The “white city” with a climate of eternal spring is famous for its architecture and the white sillar stones which were used to construct most of the colonial buildings. You will then visit the monastery of “Santa Catalina” which is spread out in the middle of the colonial center and is its own city within the city. The afternoon will be at your own disposal. Early in the morning you will set off with your private guide and vehicle towards the Colca Canyon. On the way there you will stop in the Vicuña sanctuary „Salinas y Aguada Blanca“, in order to see the shy Andean camels as well as aquatic birds like the ibis, rail or the Andean goose in he high bogs. Very early you will head out to the „Cruz del Condor“, an exposed view point above the Colca Canyon where the Andean Condors circle in the early thermal lifts. The majestic birds, with a wing span of up to 9 feet, soar directly above your heads. Afterwards you will visit some of the traditional villages.
